To be successful in this role, you should be able to identify user needs and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases for strategic-level new application releases and iterative improvements on existing features. You should be able to respond quickly to bug fixes reported through user feedback and customer service input to best serve our internal team and our audience at large.
- Lead and steward contractor teams as the Product Owner and manage bi-monthly development sprints
- Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders throughout the project and create requirements
- Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of pre-prepared tasks to work on that are tactically flexible enough to maximize work by logically grouping development (feature sets).
- Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
- Work to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy
- Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
- Work closely with Business Executives, Audience Engagement Team, and other cross-disciplinary stakeholders to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
- Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities
- Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals
- Research and analyze market, users, and the roadmap for the product
- Follow the industry and keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
- At least two years experience in the successful development of product in the Product Owner/Product Manager or like role
- Driven and detail-oriented to ensure successful execution of complex products
- A product visionary capable of clearly articulating and driving your vision
- Champion of Agile and committed to delivering fast while building quality in
- Strong knowledge of Scrum and/or Kanban
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with development teams, business stakeholders, and audience members
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to navigate constantly shifting priorities
- A natural leader who can effectively run meetings, maximize productivity and drive positive results
Location This position is full-time and will operate out of our office in Portland, Oregon.
